Shutdown your Computer with a Timer
You have to follow these steps in order to achieve the timer based shutdown.
1. Right click on your desktop and choose “New=>shortcuts”
2. You’ll get a text box which says – “Type the location of the shortcut”,
Type -
shutdown -s -t 1200
Click Next.
Note: 1200 is the number of seconds before your system shuts down.
Here, 1200 = 20minutes = 20 * 60 seconds!
3. Name your shortcut and Finish, you are done!
You can give an attractive icon to your shortcut,
You can change the icon by right clicking=>properities=>change icon=>browse
To abort this action of shutting down :
To make an abort key to stop the shutdown timer just create another shortcut and make the “location of the shortcut” to
shutdown -a

Doesn’t the search box in the Vista Start menu also act as a Run box? I heard you can just type in cmd and press Enter key to bring up the Command Prompt. Maybe it’s doesn’t have the full power of the Run dioalg (talk about the Browse button and long commands).
